Leaving Praia da Vittoria, our home for the last 8 months
Angra da Herissmo, also on Terceira where we hauled out
And Mari did some more Opi sailing with her new friend
Lize put the last paint on the bottom of the keel
Mari helped...
And Seajade was on her way to the water after a week of TLC.
Seajade smiling as she touches the water again.
On the Marina at Angra, Terceira
Also where we said our goodbye to Laurie and Neil from Berhia. We miss you guys!! They are off to Ponta Delgada and then back through Bermuda to Boothbay Maine, USA to begin a new adventure...
Then on to Horta. We were hoping to go on to Flores, but the weather didn't play along and we felt under pressure to get North as soon as possible to make the most of a short sailing season in Norway (if only we had known)...
After waiting in Horta for what seemed like forever for some decent weather we decided to get going to Ireland. It was a difficult passage, several days of 30+ knots of wind on the nose. Up to at least 40 sometimes, and gusts beyond that I am sure. And where was the sun? A theme that would repeat itself over the next few months!!
But we arrived safely in Baltimore, Ireland more or less intact. The boat was great, never struggling with the conditions, and standing up very well with no gear failure. The crew was not in as good shape though and Martin was particularly in need of a bit of the good Irish Guiness!
