A photo album of the last month in Praia da Vitoria

Well it's been a busy month. Back to school for the girls, who are now riding the bus on their own! More boat work for all of us and now Henda is away for a locum. The Portugese is progressing slowly but surely and maybe in another month we can hold some kind of conversation. The weather has been remarkably good - up until Henda left and took the good weather with her!

Henda caught doing the dishes...

Mari invented a hatch cleaner, fully automatic.

Hanlie lost her first tooth

My tall slim and wonderful Henda, look after yourself - we miss you.....

Super sliding fun

Hey man that was some good grass!!

Carnival was not what we expected, but the girls got cool masks for the carnival that was not.

MORE boat work

Mari's beauty supply store - always open for business

Asturias

Finally some pictures from our holiday on the mainland. We first met up with Elena, our friend from Namibia. We stayed in a wonderful cottage that had been in her family for a few generations. The cottage was on the top of a ridge near the town of Cangas da Onis, where they had the most amazing farmers market. Can anyone guess that Asturias is famous for its dairy and cheeses?

Tapas Asturias style... yummie

We had a wonderful day driving up to Pico da Europe. Pretty cold but we were so lucky. There was only one day when the snow was this good and we got it!! I blame it on Henda, everywhere she goes - she always takes the weather with her...

After all that cold snow, it was great to settle back to our tapas, and a few drinks.

Elena's parents invited us over for afternoon dinner, home made couriso sausage, home made cider, and other delicious food ...

Hendash adn Marish has a greasts feshtash....

Martin causing trouble in the kitchen with Elena's mom - determined to do the dishes!!

Life here in Praia da Vitoria

Things keep on ticking over, we even get to go out once in a while for a drink and some delicious nachos at the Little Mexican restaurant right next to the marina.

The kids as always walked up to school, rain or shine they were happy!!!

Henda was caught doing some dishes... but first we clean them!

..... and Hanlie had a great birthday.
